Una Comunión was founded in Mexico City in 2006 by Paola Herrera and Enrique Rivero as a production company focused on the development and production of independent feature films.

Paola Herrera studied Communication Science and Arts Administration in Mexico City. She got passionate of filmmaking after collaborating in different areas of production with directors such as Carlos Reygadas and Amat Escalante. Later on she joined Mantarraya´s production team as producer and was involved in the development of  their feature films.  Independently, she’s also collaborated in the development and in the line production of other mexican films. In May 2006 she established with Enrique Rivero the production company Una Comunión.

Mexican writer, director, producer and editor Enrique Rivero was born in Madrid in 1976. After he studied industrial engineering and having worked in the banking industry, Rivero decided to become a filmmaker. “Parque via” (2008) is Rivero’s feature directorial debut, which participated in over 60 festivals worldwide and won international awards such as the Golden Leopard and FIPRESCI at  Locarno Film Festival. His second feature “Mai Morire” (2012) was considered by Hollywood Reporter as “a stunning piece of Mexican realism” and was worthy of the award for best photography at Rome IFF, among others. “Pozoamargo” is his third film and was supported by FONCA-CONACULTA (Mexico) and Programa IBERMEDIA.
